ADIDAS SLVR FALL 2009 PREVIEW

Marking their Fall 2009 season, adidas present a preview into their fashion-geared SLVR sub label, which represents the middle ground between their Originals range and the more high end Y-3 line from Yohji Yamamoto. The upcoming SLVR selections find themselves within a spectrum of flattering cuts and a well rounded variety of Fall color tones.

BMW S.X

The BMW S.X concept by designer Iulian Bumbu, a graduate of the Transportation Design Course at the Scuola Politecnica di Design (SPD) in Milan. This BMW S.X Concept represents the next generation luxury sports coupe from BMW could look like. And it would be well positioned to take over where the current 6 Series BMW. This design has high-mount brake lights incorporated into the edges of the rear window and the lateral vents located just behind the front wheels.

DOE, A DEER: Nature-loving Stella McCartney worked closely with her inner child to come up with a Bambi-inspired ad campaign for fall. The campaign, shot by Ryan McGinley in the woods of Worcestershire, England, features cinema’s most famous deer and his pals Thumper, Friend Owl, Flower the skunk — and assorted butterflies and bluebirds. “I’m a huge Bambi fan, and the film reminds me of my mum,” said McCartney, referring to the late Linda McCartney. “And we wanted to have some fun. The clothes in the campaign are looking quite fierce, and we wanted to contrast them with the innocence of Bambi,” she added. Model Sigrid Agren is pictured stroking a live fox, while the Disney characters have been layered onto the photos. The art direction was done by McCartney’s in-house team, together with Partner and Partner in London. The ads will break as double-page spreads in the September issues of French, Italian and British Vogue, V and Another Magazine.

Best commercial ever!

Hate the crap that he's a sellout. When artists or directors approach work like this, either they can do an ad and let it hurt them, or they can take the ad and make it theirs completely. No way is he selling out here; instead he delivers a tongue in cheek self parody that raises the bar for what a commercial should be. five stars.

Coconut Records is a California based indie pop solo project by actor Jason Schwartzman formed in 2006. The debut album, Nighttiming, was released on Schwartzman’s Young Baby Records in 2007. The album had musical contributions by members of Incubus, as well as appearances by actresses Zooey Deschanel and Kirsten Dunst. Coconut Records sophomore release, Davy, was released in January 2009 and like Nighttiming featured musical contributions from Zooey Deschanel.

NEW YOUNG PONY CLUB

New Young Pony Club (NYPC) is a five-piece electro band from London consisting of Tahita Bulmer (vocals), Andy Spence (guitar), Igor Volk (bass) Lou Hayter (keyboards) and Sarah Jones (drums), and they provide a kind of tight and bass-heavy future discoid noise. Partly inspired by LCD Soundsystem and a chance meeting of like-minded band members intent on establishing something potent, Andy and Tahita formed NYPC in 2005.
