cut_&_paste

"Cut&Paste is a social arena for the discovery, advocacy, and elevation of design."

Basically, Cut&Paste created a digital design tournament because they recognized that in a competitive marketplace a lot of unseen and undeveloped talent is gone to waste. Their mission is to provide channels of visibility and inspiration for designer- both aspiring and established, to promote the designer’s ability, to form and encourage positive interaction within the design community and to broaden the mainstream perception of design and further its appreciation by sharing and demonstrating the creative process.

Touring different cities, the brightest designers will take to the stage with judges hovering over them, music blaring, minutes ticking down on the clock, and a fast-talking MC on the mic. An elaborate tech setup registers every mouse click and tapped command from each designer's workstation and projects them live on a large-scale displas in full view of the audience. Judges evaluate the designer's work and declare a winner from 2D, 3D, and motion design competitors.

"A world full of inspired people is a better world. Designers discover inspiration in unexpected places, but express it in ways that color and shape the objects and experiences of our everyday lives."
